James White Drinks has developed a nutrition bar for its Beet It range combining beetroot with oats.
The Beet It Sport Pro-Elite bar is designed to deliver the same natural dietary nitrate dose – 400mg – as the Beet It Sport shot in the range, but in an easier to consume format. The bar has also been created to provide an excellent source of slow natural energy release and protein.
According to James White Drinks, more than 100 universities worldwide are currently researching the benefits of natural dietary nitrate supplementation, with Beet It Sport shots being used.
Published work so far shows that the nitrate interacts with enzymes in saliva to boost nitric oxide levels in the blood, and this natural vasodilator increases blood flow and oxygen supply to muscles with a beneficial impact on strength and endurance. This provides a similar, but legitimate, effect to blood doping.
